Jano Willems says goodbye to Club NXT
Jano Willems played his last minutes in Blauw-Zwart at Club NXT U23 last weekend. The 21-year-old defender bids farewell to Club Brugge after a long period and now makes the move to Lierse SK. Since the age of six, Jano has worn the shirt of Club, where he went through all the youth series and grew into a regular within the academy.
In April 2022, Jano signed his first professional contract with Blauw-Zwart and on Jan. 27, 2023, he made his professional debut for Club NXT U23 in the Challenger Pro League. Later that season, he got his first starting place and opened his goal-scoring account on March 3, 2023, in the promotion playoffs against RSCA Futures. In total, Jano played 52 games for Club NXT U23. He also showed his qualities in the UEFA Youth League: in the 2022-2023 campaign he made four appearances and gave an assist in the closing minutes of the match against Atlético de Madrid U19.
Club NXT and Club Brugge want to thank Jano for the many years in which he defended the Blue-Black shirt with full conviction and commitment. From youth player to professional: his development within our club remains special.
