Prior to kick-off of Club Brugge – STVV, the final tournament of Club Brugge's very first Panna King was held. The finals concluded a Summer filled with panna tournaments in the Bruges districts, offering the finalists a shot at making it to that coveted Club Brugge Panna King 2025 award in the shadows of Jan Breydel.
Hundreds of youngsters competed in the district tournaments
Finalists originated from district tournaments set up in Sint-Jozef, Zeebrugge and Sint-Pieters, featuring hundreds of participants in what turned out to be very lively events around the City of Bruges. Youngsters from all ages competed in 1v1 panna cage games, supported by residents and fans. The enthusiasm and creativity around the pitches showcased the power of street football to bind and inspire youngsters.
Kerry, Adam and Tuur are Club Brugge's new Panna Kings
The finalists competed in three age groups, fighting each other with spectacular pannas, fast dribbles and technical skills. In the end Kerry (U11), Tuur (12-14) and Adam (+15) were crowned as winners of this first edition. Their talent, flair and fair play highly impressed the Club fans watching the tournament. The three young lads were officially presented in front of a full Jan Breydel Stadium during the break.
More than just a tournament
Club Brugge Panna King is an initiative by the Club Brugge Foundation, organising this first edition with the support of Port of Antwerp-Bruges and in close collaboration with Buurtsport Brugge. These partners gave the project a strong societal character: Port of Antwerp-Bruges firmly believes in the binding powers of football, while Buurtsport Brugge deploys accessible sports in the Bruges districts. The tournament was organised with some core values, such as passion, respect and interconnectedness.
