More than 500 pupils from 15 elementary school in and around Bruges are taking a big step towards a healthier future together with Club Brugge Foundation. The Scoring for Health project challenges pupils from the 3rd to the 6th grade to be more conscious of exercise, nutrition and mental health for an entire school year.

Bibi and player Isabelle Iliano surprise students at school

Before the students descended to the stadium, each participating class received a high visit from mascot Bibi. During these surprise moments in the schools, the children were officially welcomed to the Scoring for Health project.

Together with Bibi, they signed a Scoring for Health contract, which also bore the signatures of several players and players of Club Brugge. With this, the pupils promised to commit themselves for a school year to a healthy lifestyle - at school, at home and on the playground.

They also received a video message from meter Isabelle Iliano, captain of Club YLA, who addressed them personally:

Hey toppers! Congratulations on your participation in Scoring for Health! Always do your best, because I'm sure you're going to have super fun this school year. Just between us.... Who has never been to the Club Brugge stadium? Then let's change that soon! Soon you will be able to come to Club Brugge's stadium for some cool activities. Put your best foot forward and have fun!

With this enthusiastic message, curiosity was aroused: after all, the students themselves will soon be allowed to descend on the Jan Breydel Stadium for the big Kick-Off Event.

A magical kick-off moment at the Jan Breydel Stadium

For many pupils it is an unforgettable experience: entering the Jan Breydel Stadium for the very first time, where their soccer heroes are in action every week. The atmosphere is set right away, because every pupil receives a real Scoring for Health T-shirt with the signatures of players from the first teams of Club Brugge.

During this festive Kick-Off, each class takes part in a whole series of fun and educational activities spread throughout the stadium grounds. In the fun zone , the pupils let off steam with various playful tasks full of movement and fun. In the crea-zone , they make their own button, a lasting reminder of their participation. The X-Wall challenges them with interactive games on a digital wall, focusing on responsiveness and teamwork.

Their physical preparedness is also tested. During the sports trials, students complete a shortened Cooper test to measure their endurance, jump as far as they can in the long jump and show their speed during a short 10x5-meter sprint test .

In addition, students attend a workshop by Joetz, where they learn about the nutrition triangle and discover how many sugar cubes are actually hidden in everyday snacks and drinks.

Afterwards, each school receives a large group poster on which the students write down their healthy group goals - concrete commitments and challenges that they plan to stick to together during the school year.

A school year full of healthy goals

The Kick-Off Event sets the tone for a school year in which the students work step by step on a healthier lifestyle. Under the guidance of their teachers and with the inspiration of their Club idols, they learn what it means to eat well, exercise enough and stay mentally strong.

Scoring for Health is so much more than just a project: it is a motivating program that combines sport, fun and education. Thanks to the support of Club Brugge Foundation, their teachers and role models from professional soccer, more than 500 children learn that healthy living is not only important - but can also be fun.
